Thoughts for today!

Since my blogging is a little rusty, I'm going to start 2010 with a simple post ....

Well, today is looking like it's going to be a beautiful day!  The kids had homeschool band this morning, and now we're working on school work / travel work. 

Hoping to get in a jog at the park before dinner and scouts. 

I hope everyone has a great day!!!  Soon, I'll be warmed up and back into blogging zone.
Glad to be back!!  Feels refreshing!

It has been a long time since I've posted.  I'm not even sure anyone is still stopping by.

My account comes up for renewal in February, so I've got to make a decision before I pay for the next year.

I am not thinking I will renew my blog for next year.  I may move back to the free one on blogger.  I'll let you know!!

I need to re-evaluate my blogging.  Not sure where I want to go with this.  Sounds stange, but facebook seems to have filled the same "connecting with others" space that blogging initially did.  Does that make sense at all?

Quiet day...

Sitting here on the couch with my daughter on a quiet morning.  The boys are on a morning hike, so we're enjoying a little snuggly girl time.    :)

another post

Ok, don't go into shock!  It's another post from me.  LOL!

Today I took my daughter to have three baby teeth pulled.  This is after she had four removed last week.  These guys had long roots on them, which was causing them to not become loose.  I am SOOOO proud of my girl.  She was very strong and didn't cry one single tear.  She did hold my hand pretty tight and said she was a little scared, but she was a trooper!!  Very big girl!!

I'm sure no one is still visiting at this point.  LOL!!   You've all given up on me, haven't you?   :)

So, what's been going on lately -

My kids are growing like weeds.  My oldest son continues to grow more and more taller than I am.  The other two aren't far behind, I'm sure.  It's definitely a new stage having a teenager in the house.

I've been pretty busy with my travel business, thankfully!  Of course, you can never have too many clients.   :)  I'll never complain about being busy though.  It's a joy to have people allowing me to assist with their travel planning.  The more the merrier.

Yesterday was the first day I seriously did any homeschool planning for the coming school year.  Normally by now, I have all of our materials and have planned the first few months.  This summer has flown by on me.  I just placed an order a few days ago for some of the items we need.  I've got two more companies I need to order from.  Last night I laid out which days we will have school and which days we will take as holidays from school, so we meet our 180 days.  Once I had this decided, it looks as though we'll be starting two weeks from this Tuesday.  This will allow us to finish towards the end of May 2010. 

The kids have each picked up new instruments.  They used to take piano lessons, but now we've moved onto guitar & trombone (oldest son), drums (middle son), and flute (daughter).   We're trying out a new homeschool beginner band this year.  We'll see how it goes.

I'm still trying to run.  The hot summer has made it hard.  Many days I talk myself into doing my aerobics video instead.   Hopefully the humid summer days will end before I forget how to run.  LOL!

Let's see... what else -

My poor mom broke one foot and broke the ankle on her other leg.  She's literally been off her feet for a couple of weeks. 

My sister has to have gall bladder surgery.  I feel horrible for her.  I hope it's not too bad.  She says it will be out-patient, so that has to be a good thing.

We're contining to do some painting around the house as we have the $.  It's definitely freshening things up.  If we can't move, then we'll gradually get this place updated.   :)

Well, I guess I've caught you up a little.  I'm not ready for summer to end.  It's been nice being mom without being teacher for a few weeks.  Don't get me wrong, I enjoy homeschooling.  However, having the summer off from my "teaching job" is nice!

It's been a wonderful weekend, relaxing with my family.  We've grilled out, hung out at the neighborhood pool, watched a few movies, and eaten some yummy junk food.  LOL!   Can't ask for much more.
